Wheaton,
Ill. (11/18) - The CCIW Champion Wheaton College football team
has placed 10 players on the 2003 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin
(CCIW) All-Conference football team that was announced this afternoon. The
Thunder posted a 10-0 record this season and a 7-0 mark in conference play
to win its second consecutive CCIW Championship and third league title in
four years. Wheaton won the CCIW's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division
III Playoffs by winning the conference championship. The Thunder will host
Hope College this Saturday in a first round game of the Division III Football
Playoffs. NOTE: All-conference selection is based on performance in CCIW games
only.
Senior quarterback Chad Bradley (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton
North) was selected as the Art Keller "Offensive Player of the Year" and was
a First Team All-CCIW selection. Bradley (LEFT) has posted a 63% (162-257)
completion percentage this season with 2,405 passing yards and 18 touchdowns.

His
peers selected Wheaton head coach Mike Swider (RIGHT) as the co-Bob
Reade "Coach of the Year", along with Paul Krohn of Elmhurst College.
Swider is leading his team to its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA
Division III Playoffs. Swider has guided his team to the first back-to-back
conference titles for the Wheaton program since the 1958-59 seasons. The Thunder
becomes the first program to win an outright CCIW Championship in back-to-back
seasons since Augustana accomplished the feat in 1986 and 1987. Under Swider,
Wheaton is in the midst of a school-record 19-game regular season winning
streak and has been victorious in 17 consecutive CCIW games. Swider is 59-19
in his eight seasons as Wheaton's head coach and his 75.6% winning percentage
is the best in school history. This is Swider's third selection as the CCIW
"Coach of the Year", also earning the honor in 2000 and 2002.
