The Thunder football team finishes the 2017 campaign ranked in the top-25

Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton football team is ranked in the top-25 of a pair of national Division III polls for the conclusion of the 2017 season. The Thunder finished the season ranked 22nd in the the D3football.com Top-25 and 24th in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) coaches poll. The recognition marks the 11th time in the 15 year-history of the D3football.com Top-25 poll that Wheaton has finished a season in the ranking.
Wheaton posted an 8-2 record in 2017. Two Thunder student-athletes earned All-American recognition in 2017 as Zach Lindquist (D3football.com and Associated Press and Chase Greenlee (AFCA, D3football.com and Associated Press) each earned All-American honors in the postseason. Junior linebacker Eric Stevenson was honored as a CoSIDA Academic All-American for his work on the field and in the classroom.
