Patrick O'Connell named to the D3football.com Team of the Week

Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton sophomore defensive lineman Patrick O'Connell earned selection to this week's D3football.com Team of the Week for this performance in Saturday's 53-10 victory at home against Augustana. O'Connell collected six total tackles Saturday, including four solo stops. He registered four tackles for lost yardage, including 1-1/2 quarterback sacks. He recorded a solo sack of -11 yards in the second quarter and assisted on a sack -11 yards on the next drive of the second quarter.

The Thunder sophomore has recorded 24 total tackles this season, including 10 solo stops. He has 8-1/2 tackles for lost yardage (-34 yards), including five sacks (-27 yards). He is a starter for a Wheaton defense that is ranked fifth in Division III in quarterback sacks (3.89 SPG) and six in tackles for lost yardage (9.1 TFLPG). The Thunder defense has 35 sacks this season, among its 82 tackles for lost yardage.
