Kregel and Greenlee named preseason All-Americans by D3football.com

Wheaton, Ill. – Two members of the Thunder football team were named as 2017 preseason All-Americans by D3football.com recently. Kyler Kregel and Chase Greenlee each earned the preseason recognition from the website.

??Kyler Kregel was named a First Team selection at center. A Second Team All-American in 2016, he anchored a balanced Wheaton offensive line that helped the Thunder offense average 417.9 yards per game. Wheaton averaged 252.9 passing yards this season and ran for 165.0 yards per contest.

?Chase Greenlee picked up Second Team recognition at defensive end. An honorable mention All-American by D3football.com in 2016, he led Wheaton with 14 sacks (-79 yards), tying for third on Wheaton's single-season sacks list. Greenlee registered 19 tackles for loss (-98 yards) in 2016 and tallied 61 total tackles last year. His 14 sacks last year ranked fifth among all Division III players and his 19 tackles for loss was 16th in Division III. In two seasons with the Thunder, Greenlee has recorded 93 total tackles (49 solo tackles). He has registered 23-1/2 tackles for loss (-117 yards) in his Thunder tenure, including 16 sacks (-91 yards).

Wheaton, ranked sixth in the preseason D3football.com Top-25 Poll, opens the 2017 season September 2 at Benedictine University.
