Luke Sahly and Zach Feddeler earn CCIW Player of the Week distinctions

Wheaton, Ill. - Two Thunder football players have earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Senior linebacker Luke Sahly was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week and punter Zach Feddeler was named this week's CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week. Both players helped lead Wheaton to a 35-19 victory against Millikin at home last Saturday afternoon.

Sahly led the Thunder defense against Millikin with a team-high nine total tackles, including five solo stops. The senior also forced a fumble in the first half in the first half against the Big Blue. The Thunder linebacker is tied for the CCIW lead in forced fumbles this season and his four sacks this year rank third-most in the league. He is fifth in the CCIW in tackles for lost yardage (seven) and his 36 total tackles is 16th in the league.

Feddeler, a sophomore for the Thunder, had four punts for 147 yards (36.8-yard average) against Millikin on Saturday. He had a long punt of 54 yards and two punts that went inside the Millikin 20-yard line, including a 29-yard punt that was fair caught at the Big Blue five-yard line. This is the second career CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week recognition for Feddeler who also picked up the recognition on November 16, 2015.

Wheaton will travel to Naperville, Illinois on Saturday for a battle of nationally-ranked teams in a matchup with North Central College.
