Work is completed on a new playing surface at McCully Stadium

Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College recently completed installation of a new FieldTurf playing surface at McCully Stadium, home of the Thunder football, men's track & field and women's track & field programs. McCully Stadium also hosts club sport activities and intramural programs.
Installation on the new FieldTurf Classic HD playing surface began on May 9 and concluded on June 22. The new surface replaces the first generation FieldTurf surface that was installed at McCully Stadium in 2004.
A 40-yard marked practice area was also installed and FieldTurf Classic HD was installed in the southwest corner of the stadium. This area will allow the the Thunder football program to utilize McCully Stadium throughout the season for practices, beginning with the team's camp this August.
Wheaton will open its football season at McCully Stadium on September 3 when the Thunder hosts Benedictine University at 1:00 p.m.
