Adam Dansdill named to D3football.com Team of the Week

Wheaton, Ill. - For the fourth consecutive week, the Thunder football team has placed a player on the D3football.com Team of the Week. Adam Dansdill becomes the third consecutive defensive player to earn the honor for the 'orange and blue'. Wheaton is one of only two programs (Texas Lutheran) to have a player honored by D3football.com in four consecutive weeks and is also one of only two programs (Ripon) to have a player honored on the same side of the ball for three consecutive weeks. Dansdill follows Logan McRae and Wes Cannonier as defensive honorees.

Dansdill totalled 11 tackles with 3-1/2 tackles for loss and one sack in Wheaton's 40-27 victory at Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday. Seven of his 11 total tackles were solo stops. He recorded five tackles, two for loss including a sack, and a pass breakup in the decisive fourth quarter that saw Wheaton break a 27-27 tie. This is the first career Team of the Week selection for the reigning CCIW Defensive Player of the Year.

In Wheaton's nine games this season, Dansdill has recorded a team-high 85 total tackles, including 43 solo stops. He has made 12 tackles for lost yardage, with a forced fumble, three quarterback hurries and three passes broken up.

In his three-plus seasons at Wheaton, Dansdill has recorded 288 total tackles, including 151 solo tackles. He has 25 tackles for loss (-83 yards) in his career.

Wheaton (9-0, 6-0 CCIW) is ranked third in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top-25 poll and fifth in this week's D3football.com Top-25 Poll. The Thunder will close out the regular season by hosting Carthage College at 1 PM on Saturday at McCully Stadium.Print Friendly Version
