Adam Dansdill is named the CCIW's Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career

Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College senior Adam Dansdill has been named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week for football, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. This is the fourth career CCIW "Player of the Week" selection for Dansdill who also earned the award on Oct. 14, 2013; Sept. 15, 2014 and Nov. 17, 2014.

Dansdill was an integral part of Wheaton's 49-0 victory against Adrian College last Saturday. Dansdill led the Thunder in total tackles with 11 total stops against the Bulldogs, including six solo tackles. The senior forced a fourth-quarter fumble that resulted in a 57-yard return for fellow senior Mikey Swider. Dansdill, a team captain, keyed a Wheaton defense that held Adrian to just 187 total yards, including only 53 rushing yards.

In Wheaton's two games this season, Dansdill has recorded a team-high 21 total tackles, including 14 solo stops. He has made three tackles for lost yardage, with a forced fumble.

In his three-plus seasons at Wheaton, Dansdill has recorded 224 total tackles, including 122 solo tackles. He has 16 tackles for loss (-51 yards) in his career.

Wheaton (2-0), ranked seventh in this week's D3football.com Top-25 Poll, will travel to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff against the Blugolds.
