2014 Play of the Year and Performance of the Year winners

Wheaton, Ill. - The winners of the 2014 Wheaton Play of the Year and Male and Female Performances of the Year were announced at halftime of the men's basketball broadcast on Saturday. The 2014 Play of the Year is the second installment of the award while the Male and Female Performance Awards are in their inaugural year. Results for the awards were tabulated through internet voting on the Wheaton Athletics Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts.

Sarah Frey's goal against Illinois Wesleyan in the CCIW Tournament Championship game was the winner of the 2014 Play of the Year. Johnny Peltz' eight-touchdown performance against Elmhurst was the winner of the 2014 Male Performance of the Year. Kelsey Graham's shutout against #1-ranked WashU earned her the 2014 Female Performance of the Year.

Shelby Knowles - 15 kills, 20 digs in straight sets upset at #9-ranked Elmhurst

Kirsty Nitz - Set NCAA record and defended her National Championship in the 100-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships

Emma Shunk - Highest individual finish (5th) in school history at the NCAA Cross Country Championships

MALE PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR FINALISTS

Johnny Peltz - 18-of-22 passing for 289 yards and four touchdowns with 16 carries for 116 yards and four touchdowns in a win at Elmhurst

Tyler Peters - 29 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in win at #3-ranked Illinois Wesleyan in CCIW Tournament Championship game

James Waterman - Earned All-American recognition with sixth place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Championships

Trey Martin - 7-for-11 with three home runs, two doubles, two walks, five runs scored and 11 RBI in a doubleheader sweep at Elmhurst
