Wheaton places four on the 2013 D3football.com All-North Region Team

Wheaton, Ill. – Four members of the Wheaton College football team have been named to the 2013 D3football.com All-North Region Team. Wheaton posted an 8-2 record this season with a 5-2 mark in conference play.
Junior Spencer Clark earned First Team All-Region recognition at center. Clark, a two-time All-CCIW honoree, keyed a Wheaton offensive line that allowed Wheaton to average 38.3 points per game and 431 yards per game. The balanced Thunder offense tallied 212.9 yards per game on the ground this season, with 218.1 passing yards. Clark allowed just one sack this season.
Senior Brandon Dykstra (PICTURED LEFT) was tabbed as a Second Team honoree at defensive tackle. Dykstra is a two-time All-Region honoree at defensive tackle, earning First Team recognition in 2012. He was alson named an All-American by the website in 2012. Dykstra, a two-time All-CCIW selection, made 24 total tackles this fall, with three tackles for lost yardage (-6 yards).
Thunder senior Brett Anderson (PICTURED RIGHT) earned Third Team All-Region honors at linebacker for his stellar 2013 season. A team captain this season, Anderson recorded 56 total tackles and had two interceptions. He tallied four tackles four lost yardage (-22 yards), including 1-1/2 quaterback sacks (-17 yards), with five passes broken up.
Senior Jackson Edwards (PICTURED LEFT) was tabbed as a Third Team selection at cornerback. Edwards, a First Team All-CCIW performer at cornerback this fall, tallied 27 tackles this season, including 19 solo stops. Edwards recorded one interception this season, returning it 81 yards in a victory against Albion College. He also broke up five passes during the season.Print Friendly Version
