Sam Cote named CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week

Wheaton, Ill.- Wheaton kicker Sam Cote has been named this week's CCIW Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Cote scored 12 points in Wheaton's 66-0 victory over Albion on Saturday night in its home opener.
Cote gave Wheaton a 10-0 lead following Wheaton's second possession of the game by kicking a 44-yard field goal, the second longest of his career. Cote was also 9-9 on PAT attempts. Cote is now 3-3 on field goal attempts this season including a career long 46-yarder last week at Benedictine. Cote is also 15-15 on PAT attempts this season.
Prior to the season, Cote was named to the Fred Mitchell Award Preseason Watch List for the nation's best place kicker. Last season, Cote was 8-13 on field goal tries and 50-52 on PAT attempts.Print Friendly Version
