Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College student-athletes Mark Hiben and Brandon Dykstra have been named to the 2012 D3football.com All-American Team. Wheaton posted an 8-2 record this season with a 6-1 mark in conference play to win a share of the conference crown.

Sophomore Mark Hiben (PICTURED LEFT) earned a Second Team All-American nod at wide receiver after earning First Team All-Region recognition from the website last week. Hiben, a two-time All-CCCIW selection, had a team-high 961 receiving yards, on 64 receptions, with 11 touchdowns this year. He averaged 15 yards per catch and 120.1 receiving yards per game. Hiben is ranked 10th among all Division III receivers in receiving yards per game (120.13 YPG) and 12th in Division III in receptions per game (8.0 RPG).

In just two seasons at Wheaton, Hiben has recorded 102 receptions for 1,589 yards and 19 touchdown catches. He has averaged 15.6 yards per catch and 6.8 receptions per game in his first two years.

Junior Brandon Dykstra (PICTURED RIGHT) was tabbed as a Fourth Team All-American at defensive tackle. Dykstra, a two-time All-CCIW selection, earned First Team All-North Region recognition from D3football.com last week. He made 36 total tackles this fall, including 21 solo stops. He was a force in the opposition's backfield with 8-1/2 tackles for lost yardage (-30 yards) and four quarterback sacks on the year.

In three years on the Thunder defensive line, Dykstra has made 99 total tackles, including 51 solo stops. He has 13.5 tackles for lost yardage of minus-51 yards in his career, including seven quarterback sacks that have totaled minus-39 yards.
