Wheaton, Ill. – Garrett Meador, a senior for the 2012 Thunder football team has been selected as a preseason All-American selection at quarterback by D3Football.com. Meador's selection follows his recognition as the North Region Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Region in 2011.

Last Fall Meador earned recognition as the CCIW's Art Keller Offensive Player of the Year, with First Team All-CCIW recognition. He posted the second-highest completion percentage in school history with a mark of 65.2%, completing 227 of his 348 passing attempts. He threw for 2,852 yards, with 28 touchdown passes. Meador ranked 13th in Division III in passing efficiency (156.60) and 17th in total offense (292.50).

In CCIW play, Meador completed 64.6% (168-260) of his passing attempts for 2,119 yards with 19 touchdowns. His 2,119 passing yards in league games is the seventh-highest single-season total in CCIW history.

Meador and the Thunder will open the 2012 season on August 30 at 7 PM. The Thunder will host Benedictine University under the lights at McCully Stadium in the season opener.
