Jesse Scott and Jonathan Brown named to Wheaton football staff

Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College (Ill.) football coach Mike Swider has announced the hiring of two new football coaches for the Thunder football program. Former Wheaton standout Jesse Scott will serve as the offensive line coach for the 2012 season and Jonathan Brown (PICTURED RIGHT) will join the Thunder as wide receivers coach.

Scott (PICTURED LEFT), a former All-American offensive lineman for the Thunder, has spent the past three seasons as Wheaton's assistant defensive line coach. A 2009 Wheaton graduate, Scott enjoyed a stellar playing career for the Thunder from 2005-08, featuring All-CCIW selections in his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Scott earned D3Football.com All-North Region First Team honors and was named to the D3football.com All-America First Team. As the starting right tackle, Scott was part of the record-breaking 2008 Thunder offense that broke 17 single-season and career records while advancing to the NCAA Division III National Semifinals. Scott earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics from Wheaton in 2009.

Brown previously served as a graduate assistant coach and academic coordinator at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Ill from 2007 to 2009. During his time with the Trojans he served as tight ends and tackles coach (2007); wide receivers coach (2008) and defensive backs coach (2009). Brown graduated from Trinity International with a Bachelor's Degree in Business in 2007 and he earned his Master's Degree from Trinity International in Communication and Culture in 2007. He played for the Trojans' football team from 2002-06, playing fullback, tight end, defensive tackle and defensive end.Print Friendly Version
