Andy Studebaker and Pete Ittersagen named to the D3football.com 2000's All-Decade Team

Wheaton, Ill. - Two Wheaton alumni have been named to the "All-Decade Team" for the 2000's by D3football.com. Former All-Americans Andy Studebaker and Pete Ittersagen have been named to the four-team squad. Studebaker was a Second Team selection at defensive end and Ittersagen was a First Team pick at cornerback and a Second Team pick as a return specialist.

Studebaker was selected as a First Team All-American by D3football.com as a junior in 2007 and was a First Team preseason All-American pick by the website prior to his a his senior season in 2008 that was cut short due to injury. Studebaker was named the D3Football.com North Region Defensive Player of the Year in 2006.

Ittersagen was a five-time postseason All-American pick by D3football.com in his playing career. He earned an honorable mention nod at cornerback in 2006 and was a First Team pick at the position in both 2007 and 2008. The website also selected him as a Second Team honoree as a returner in 2007 and he was a First Team pick in 2008. He also received preseason All-American accolades from the website three times. Ittersagen was named the D3Football.com North Region Defensive Player of the Year in 2008.

Studebaker graduated from Wheaton in May of 2008. In four seasons with the Thunder, he tallied 111 total tackles, with 50-1/2 tackles for lost yardage (-292 yards), including 30 quarterback sacks. As a junior in 2006 he was selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Player of the Year and was tabbed as a First Team All-American and the North Region Defensive Player of the Year by D3Football.com. In that junior campaign he led the CCIW and Division III with 17-1/2 (-142 yards) quarterback sacks and was also the league leader in tackles for lost yardage with 25-1/2 (-161 yards). His 17-1/2 sacks tied the school record for sacks in a single season, and were the most of any player at any NCAA level in 2006. He recently completed his second full season as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.

A December 2008 graduate of Wheaton, Ittersagen tallied 60 passes defended in his career, which is fifth all-time in Division III history in the category. His five career punt returns for a touchdown established a new school record and his nine career touchdown returns (five punt, three interception and one kick) also set a Wheaton College record. He is the program's all-time leader in punt return yardage with 65 punts returns for 1,075 yards (16.5 YPR). The four-time All-Conference selection at cornerback recorded 252 career tackles, with 189 solo stops. He finished the 2010 season as a member of the Tennessee Titans' active roster, playing in three games with the team.
