The Thunder football team to open its 2010 season on Saturday at Albion

The Wheaton football team will open its 2010 season on Saturday at 1 PM (EDT) at Albion College. Saturday's game will be the seventh meeting between Wheaton and Albion on the gridiron. Wheaton holds a 4-2 advantage in the all-time series between the two teams. The last meeting between the two team was in 2007, with Wheaton winning 28-10 at Albion. The two teams also met the year before that with a 29-8 Thunder victory at McCully Stadium.

Wheaton enters Saturday's season opener with a streak of 23 consecutive victories in non-conference regular season contests. The last Thunder defeat against a non-conference opponent in the regular season was a 23-16 loss at Alma College in the first game of the 2002 season on September 14, 2002.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on WETN radio at 88.1 FM in the Wheaton area and on the internet at www.wetn.org with play-by-play by Rusty Lindsey and color analysis by Doug Rothschild. Albion will also have live online video of Saturday's game HERE and live in-game statistics HERE.
