CCIW announces its fall preseason coaches polls

Wheaton, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin has released coaches' polls for four of the league's fall sports. Wheaton is well-represented in each of these polls. The Thunder women's soccer team and men's soccer team are both picked second, the football team is picked second and the Wheaton volleyball team was selected sixth in its respective poll.

North Central was picked on top of the CCIW preseason poll for football with 48 points and six first-place votes. Wheaton was second, receiving 41 points and one first-place votes, Augustana was third with 33 points and one first-place vote, Illinois Wesleyan was fourth with 33 points, Carthage was fifth with 28 points in the poll, Millikin received 21 points in sixth place, Elmhurst was seventh with 13 points and North Park was eighth with seven points. Augustana, the defending CCIW Champion in women's soccer was picked to repeat in the coaches' poll with 47 points and five first place votes. Wheaton was second in the poll, with 44 points and three first-place votes, Illinois Wesleyan was selected third with 38 points and Millikin was picked fourth with 26 points. Elmhurst was picked by the league's coaches to repeat as the CCIW Champion in men' soccer with 48 points and six first-place votes in the poll. Wheaton, the defending CCIW Tournament Champions, was second in the poll with 43 points and one first-place vote. Carthage was picked third in the men's soccer poll with 33 points and North Park received 32 points in fourth place with one first-place vote. LINK TO THE OFFICIAL CCIW RELEASE

Carthage was selected as the league favorite in the preseason volleyball coaches poll with 49 points and seven first-place votes, North Central was second with 42 points and one first-place vote, Illinois Wesleyan was tabbed third, with 35 points, Elmhurst was picked fourth with 33 points, Millikin tallied 22 points in fifth place, Wheaton finished sixth in the poll with 20 points, Augustana was selected seventh with 16 points and North Park received seven points in eighth place.
