Andrew Bowers announces his resignation as offensive coordinator

Wheaton, Ill. – Andrew Bowers, offensive coordinator for the Wheaton Thunder football program, has announced his resignation. A 2017 Wheaton graduate, Bowers has served as an assistant coach at Wheaton for the past six years.

Head coach Jesse Scott says of Bowers, "Coach Bowers will be missed! I am grateful for all of Andrew's contributions in his six years on staff. He has been a tremendous representative of Wheaton Football both while in uniform and while on our staff.

Bowers spent his first two seasons as an offensive assistant before earning a promotion to special teams coordinator prior to the 2020 season. He was then promoted to the role of offensive coordinator following the conclusion of the 2021 season.

In 2023, Bowers' final campaign as offensive coordinator, The Thunder offense amassed 6,012 yards of total offense to set a new school record. The Wheaton offense averaged 501.0 yards per game this year for a new school. The Wheaton offense ranked ninth in Division III in scoring (46.0 PPG) this year and was 10th in total offense. In his debut season as offensive coordinator, the 2022 Thunder offense ranked in the top-five in Division III in both total offense and scoring.
