Giovanni Weeks named CCIW Football Student-Athlete of the Week

Wheaton, Ill. - Giovanni Weeks of the Thunder football team has each been named a CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts in Wheaton's victory at Millikin last Saturday. This is Weeks' first weekly award from the CCIW for the 2023 season and the fourth time he has earned the honor in his career.
Weeks averaged an impressive 15.5 yards per rush on just 10 carries on Saturday, scoring four touchdowns in the first half, including three in the opening quarter. He had touchdown runs of 85, 18, 4 and 1 yards on the day. The touchdowns allowed the two-time All-American to increase his school records for career touchdowns (61) and career rushing touchdowns (52). With 24 points on the day he upped his career scoring average to 12.2 points per game, a mark that ranks 14th in Division III history and is No. 1 among all active NCAA football players (all divisions). Weeks is second among all active Division III football players in rushing touchdowns. Additionally, He also improved his career yards per rush average to 7.1 yards per game, a mark that is third among all active Division III football players and is fifth among all NCAA football players (all Divisions).
