Caleb Titherington named CCIW Football Student-Athlete of the Week

Wheaton, Ill. - Caleb Titherington of the Thunder football team has each been named a CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts in Wheaton's victory at Carroll last Saturday.
Titherington had eight catches for 116 yards on Saturday in the 52-6 victory at Carroll. Five of his eight receptions were for touchdowns to set a new Wheaton single-game record. Titherington is just the 17th player in CCIW history to score five touchdowns in a CCIW game.
Titherington's first touchdown of the game was a 27-yard catch that gave the Thunder a 7-0 lead. His second TD was a 21-yard catch that increase Wheaton's lead to 21-6 in the second quarter. In the third quarter, he had touchdown catches of 23 yards and one yard and added a 19-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter. He also had a 43-yard kickoff return to his credit on Saturday.
The Thunder travel to Millikin next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff in Decatur.
