Pete Ittersagen and Geoff Rowson earn D3Football.com All-Region honors

Wheaton. Ill. – Pete Ittersagen and Geoff Rowson of the Wheaton football team have been selected to the 2007 D3Football.com All-North Region football team. This marks the second consecutive season that both Rowson and Ittersagen have earn All-North Region honors from the website.
Ittersagen was recognized as a First Team selection this year at both cornerback and return specialist. Last year Ittersagen was a First Team All-Region pick and honorable mention All-American from D3Football.com. In August the junior was tabbed as a preseason All-American at cornerback by the website. At the conclusion of the season Ittersagen was recognized as the 2007 "Don Larson Defensive Player of the Year" by the CCIW and was tabbed as a First Team All-CCIW selection at both defensive back and as a return specialist.
Ittersagen led Wheaton with 72 total tackles this year, including 63 solo stops. The Thunder cornerback recorded three interceptions and tallied 18 total passes broken-up, a league best and the second-best total in Division III during the regular season. He also forced two fumbles this year. As a punt returner, Ittersagen tied the school single-season record for punt returns for a touchdown with two. He had 28 returns this for 404 yards, averaging 14.4 yards per return.
Rowson (PICTURED RIGHT) earned Second Team All-North Region honors this year at guard. In 2006 he was a First Team All-Region honoree at the same position. A three-time All-CCIW selection, Rowson has twice earned First Team All-Conference honors. This season he served as a starting linemen for a Thunder offense that averaged 400.8 yards per game, rushing for 134.7 yards and passing for 266.1 yards per game.
