Wheaton places 11 on the 2022 All-CCIW Football Team

Wheaton, Ill. –The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its All-Conference football team on Tuesday. Wheaton was well represented with 11 All-CCIW selections.

Thunder quarterback Will Bowers was the lone QB on this year's First Team All-CCIW unit. Bowers is second in Division III with a 76.3% (229-300) completion percentage that is on pace to set a school single-season record. He has thrown for 2,646 yards, averaging 264.6 yards per game. The graduate transfer has thrown 31 touchdowns in his 10 games.

Running back Giovanni Weeks earned First Team All-CCIW recognition for the second-consecutive season. Weeks has a team-high 139.2 yard per game average in all purpose yards this season. He has run for 1,063 yards this year as he has averaged 6.4 yards per carry with 15 touchdown runs. Weeks has 27 receptions for 329 yards with five touchdown catches.

Tight end Ben Juska is a First Team All-CCIW selection this season. Juska is averaging 14.7 yards per catch with 324 receiving yards on 22 receptions. Juska has reached the end zone five times this year with five touchdown catches. Wide receiver Tyler Gautier picked up second team all-conference honors. Gautier has 46 receptions this year for 586 yards, averaging 12.7 yards per catch, with six touchdowns.

Three Thunder offensive linemen earned All-CCIW honors. Trevor Gabriele and Paul Fay earned First Team honors, and Graham Wall is a Second Team honoree this year. Gabriele is a two-time All-CCIW selection after earning Second Team honors last season. The trio is a key part of a Thunder offense that is fifth in Division III in total offense (515.5 YPG), sixth in scoring offense (45.7 PPG), 20th in rushing offense (224.3 YPG) and 21st in passing offense (291.2 YPG).

Two members of the Thunder secondary picked up All-CCIW recognition this year. Safety Sam Bell is a first team honoree and cornerback Max Wilson picked up a second Team All-CCIW honors. Bell leads the Thunder with five interceptions this year. He has added 43 total tackles, with 31 solo stops.

Bell has four pass breakups and is the team leader with nine passes defended. Wilson is tied for second on the squad with four interceptions, and has added four passes broken up. He has 25 total tackles, including 20 solo stops, and forced a fumble.

Defensive end Brayden Anthony and linebacker Jalen Shaffer each earned Second Team All-CCIW honors. Shaffer leads the Thunder with 74 total tackles, including 55 solo tackles. He has 7-1/2 (-21 yards) tackles for loss this year, including one sack (-8 yards). Shaffer also has an interception, two forced fumbles and three passes broken up. Anthony has 43 total tackles this season, including 26 solos. He has seven tackles for loss (-26 yards), including four sacks (-23 yards).
