Will Bowers named to the D3football.com Team of the Week

Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton quarterback Will Bowers has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week this morning for his effort in last Saturday's 42-35 victory at No. 25 WashU.
Bowers posted a 73.7% (28-of-38) completion percentage with three touchdown passes under windy conditions in the win against the Bears last Saturday. He threw for 234 yards and ran for 124 yards on 11 carries. The Liberty University transfer amassed 358 yards of total offense with his effort through the air and on the ground. Six of Bowers' 11 carries on Saturday were for more than 10 yards, including a first-quarter rush of 31 yards.
Bowers' first touchdown pass was a 12-yard connection in the second quarter that gave the Thunder a 21-7 lead. His second scoring pass was a 17-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter made Wheaton's advantage 35-21.His final touchdown pass was a 42-yard TD toss early in the fourth quarter to make the score 42-28.
For the season, Bowers has a 75.7% (206-of-274) completion percentage that ranks third in Division III and is on pace to break Jordan Roberts' school record of 70.3% set in 2012. In addition to completion percentage, Bowers ranks in the top-15 in Division III in six different individual offensive categories. He is seventh in the nation in completions per game (22.89 CPG); 12th in both passing efficiency (175.6) and passing touchdowns (26); 14th in both total offense (291.1 YPG) and points responsible for (176).
Bowers and the Thunder conclude the regular season this Saturday against North Park at 1:00 p.m. at McCully Stadium.
