Will Bowers named the CCIW's Football Student-Athlete of the Week on offense

Wheaton, Ill. - Will Bowers of the Thunder football team has been named CCIW Football Student-Athlete of the Week for his effort in last Saturday's 42-7 victory against Illinois Wesleyan in the CCIW opener. Bowers is a graduate student at Wheaton in the Global Leadership program of the Wheaton College graduate school.
Bowers passed for 333 yards in Saturday's win against the Titans, completing 23 of his 29 pass attempts for a completion percentage of 79.3%. He had four touchdown passes and a touchdown run as he was part of five of Wheaton's six touchdowns on Saturday. Wn Wheaton's second offensive play of the game, he broke free on a 51-yard touchdown run to give the Thunder a 7-0 lead just 1:47 into the game.. In the remainder of the first half he had touchdown passes of 65, 43, 18 and three yards.
Bowers' 24.5 completions per game average ranks fourth in Division III while his 76.6% (49-of-64) completion percentage is sixth in the country. Bowers is ninth in Division III in total offense at 349.5 yards per game, is 13th in Division III in passing yards per game with 317.5 yards per game' and he is 18th in passing efficiency with a mark of 185.7.
Wheaton travels to Augustana this Saturday for a 6:00 p.m.kickoff against the Vikings.
