The CCIW releases four fall preseason coaches' polls

Wheaton, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) has released coaches' polls for four of the league's fall sports, with Wheaton being well-represented in each of these polls.
CCIW FOOTBALL POLL (Link to poll)
The Thunder football team returns in 2022 following earning an at-large spot in the 2021 NCAA Division III Playoffs. Wheaton was second in voting among the league's coaches as the Thunder earned one first-place vote. North Central tallied 81 points with nine first-place votes in first place. Wheaton was second in the voting with 73 points, WashU tallied 63 points in third place, Augustana and Carroll each registered 47 points in the voting. Illinois Wesleyan garnered 45 points in sixth place, Carthage was seventh with 33 points, Millikin was eighth in the voting with 31 points, North Park was ninth with 18 points and Elmhurst finished 10th with 12 points.
CCIW WOMEN'S SOCCER POLL (Link to poll)
Wheaton, the defending co-CCIW Champion in women's soccer was picked to finish second in the coaches' poll. The Thunder and North Central each received four first-place votes and Illinois Wesleyan collected one first-place vote. North Central finished first in the voting with 59 points and Wheaton was close behind with 58 points in second place. Third-place Illinois Wesleyan received 52 points, Augustana collected 45 points in fourth place, Carroll registered 33 points in fifth place, Carthage tallied 26 points in sixth place, Millikin collected 25 points in seventh place, Elmhurst finished eighth with 14 points and North Park was ninth with 12 points.
CCIW MEN'S SOCCER POLL (Link to poll)
Wheaton was picked to finish third in the coaches' preseason poll for men's soccer. Wheaton picked up one first-place vote, North Park had five first-place votes and North Central received three first-place votes. North Park finished first in the poll with 61 points, North Central was two behind with 59 points in second place. Wheaton finished third in the voting with 49 points, Carthage tallied 43 points in fourth place, Illinois Wesleyan was fifth with 35 points, Elmhurst placed sixth with 31 points, Carroll finished seventh with 21 points, Millikin tallied 13 points in eighth place and Augustana finished ninth with 12 points.
CCIW VOLLEYBALL POLL (Link to poll)
CCIW head volleyball coaches picked Wheaton to finish seventh in the preseason poll. Carthage picked up four first-place votes, Millikin received three first-place votes and Illinois Wesleyan collected two. Illinois Wesleyan finished first in the poll with a total of 56 points, Millikin was one point behind in second place with 55 points and Carthage tallied 52 points in third place. North Park was picked fourth in the voting with 41 points, Elmhurst tallied 40 points in fifth place, North Central was sixth with 27 points, Wheaton collected 22 points in seventh place, Augustana registered 20 points in eighth place and Carroll finished ninth with 11 points.
Voting for each sport is done by that sport's respective head coaches from each school. Each coach votes for the eight other schools in the conference (nine in football) in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (eight points for first, seven for second, etc.). Coaches may not vote for their own teams.Print Friendly Version
