15 members of the Thunder football team selected to the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society

Wheaton, Ill. - The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced the members of the 2022 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. There are 15 seniors from the Wheaton football team that completed their collegiate playing career, and have earned selection to the Hampshire Honor Society.

The 15 Thunder football players that earned the recognition from the NFF are: Luke Anthony, Fielding Davis, Caleb Egbert, Tommy Gallagher, Luke Gammichia, Caleb Grotelueschen, Daniel Herber, Ryan Lavanchy, Wyatt Lee, Gabriel McGill, Bert McJunkin, Ryan Schwartz, Josh Shafley, River Shindledecker, and Adam Terrini. All 15 players completed their Wheaton playing career with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better.

Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must have:

Completed their final year of playing eligibility in 2022;

Graduated players, who have remaining eligibility but will not return to collegiate play (e.g. declared for NFL Draft or retired from football), may also be nominated.

Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study;

Met all NCAA- or NAIA-mandated progress toward degree requirements; and

Been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2019 season.

There are a total of 1,559 players from a 313 schools that earned membership is the second-highest one year total in the Society's 16th year. The NFF Hampshire Honor Society was launched in 2007.Print Friendly Version
