Pete Ittersagen named CCIW Player of the Week on defense

Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton junior Pete Ittersagen has been selected as the CCIW's "Player of the Week" on defense for his efforts in Wheaton's 29-7 win against Millikin on Saturday. This week's selection is the second "Player of the Week" honor for Ittersagen who was the conference's "Player of the Week" on special teams for September 8. Wheaton is currently ranked fifth in this week's D3Football.com Top 25 poll and is 4-0 on the season. The Thunder will be at North Central next Saturday night for a 7 PM kickoff against the Cardinals.

Ittersagen, a D3Football.com preseason All-American, led the Thunder with a team-high 12 total tackles, including 10 solo stops in Saturday's win against Millikin. He also had four passes broken-up with a forced fumble and a tackle for lost yardage of minus-2 yards.

Ittersagen leads the CCIW with 14 passes defended this season and is tied for the conference lead with three interceptions. He is ranked sixth in the league with an average of eight tackles per game. Ittersagen has a team-best 32 tackles, including a league-best 25 solo tackles.
