Zach Ullrich named CCIW "Player of the Week" on offense

Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton senior Zach Ullrich has been named the CCIW “Player of the Week” on offense, for his efforts in leading the Thunder to a 55-14 win at Washington (Mo.) last Saturday. Ullrich has guided the ninth-ranked Thunder to a 2-0 start to the 2007 season.

Ullrich completed 69.5-percent of his passes against the Bears with 16 completions on 23 attempts. The Thunder quarterback threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns. His longest toss of the day was a 73-yard connection to Chris Fossum, leading to Wheaton's fourth touchdown of the game. Ullrich left the game, due to an injury, mid-way through the third quarter and was later sent to a St. Louis-area hospital.

For the season, Ullrich has completed 65-percent (39-60) of his passes, for 488 yards and five touchdowns. Ullrich leads the CCIW in passing with 244 yards per game and also is the league-leader in total offense, with 248 yards per game.
